Assistant Coach AVA Boys; Mini-Volley
TraudLinde (pronounced “Trot-a-Lyn”) began her volleyball career in 8th grade where her P.E. teacher mentioned her soon-to-be high school was hosting the districts first ever girls volleyball tryouts that summer. TraudLinde’s mother was also an avid volleyball player and encouraged her to try out for the team. Starting her freshman year, TraudLinde made the Varsity Girls Volleyball Team all four years and was the only member to achieve a Varsity Letter all four years. In addition to volleyball, TraudLinde also ran winter and spring track her freshman and sophomore years. During her junior and senior years she opted to focus more on volleyball and began playing with the Fredericksburg Junior Volleyball Club (FJVC).
After high school, TraudLinde started working on her career and continued to play volleyball recreationally in various adult leagues and tournaments throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.
In 2009 TraudLinde received her personal training diploma from the National Personal Training Institute. Since then she has competed in four bodybuilding competitions under the “Figure” division. She has placed anywhere from 2nd to 7th in these competitions and continues to maintain a high level of fitness in addition to playing volleyball.
TraudLinde is the newest coach to AVA and brings a lot of energy to the coaching team and to the kids. One of her biggest joys in coaching is watching the kids advance in their skills and love of the sport. TraudLinde believes team sports provide life-long skills that can’t be found anywhere else; how to be a gracious winner or loser, respect for teammates, and how to work well with others of varying skills.
